Tracking Trends in the Bar Industry: Which Drinks do Americans Crave the Most?

One of the most important things for any bar owner to keep in mind is the fact that industry news is something to stay on top of. Keeping careful track of bar industry trends is one way to ensure that guests are always satisfied with their experience. Bar owners that are savvy to what their guests want will keep a steady stream of satisfied customers. Whiskey—particularly brands of whiskey distilled in the US—continues to grow in popularity. One of the advantages that whiskey offers is the fact that it is available in several varieties. It also has the right type of flavoring to ensure that it works well in mixed drinks. From bourbon and Tennessee whiskey to single-malt options, bars that offer a variety of whiskies will ensure satisfaction. Domestic red wines have also grown in popularity in recent years. In times past, merlot and cabernet sauvignon have been among the top wines that customers prefer. Some of the red wines that have attracted a lot of attention include pinot noir, Syrah, and Rhone. Many bar customers prefer wine over other drinks, and wine enthusiasts are usually receptive to trying new varieties. Seasonal beers, ales and ciders are among some of the top alcoholic beverage trends that people are noticing in bars across the country. Experts who track bar industry trends feel that limited-edition or seasonal brews will continue to account for a lot of sales. Another thing that makes these seasonal drinks very popular is their usefulness in cocktails. Those following have also noted the fact that many enjoy cocktails made from beer. Known as hoptails, they provide a refreshing alternative to cocktails featuring liquor. As the number of micro-breweries grows, more bars are offering cocktails made with these unique beers. Keeping track of bar industry trends and the drinks that bar guests order the most is one way to help ensure success. Customers will keep returning to bars that cater to their tastes. Happy customers tend to be regular customers.
