Restaurant Security Expert Way to Catch the Sticky Fingers

The restaurant security expert is a necessity in the foodservice sector since like in any business there are incidences of the employees to help themselves with the profits. Restaurants and bars are often the target of itchy fingers. There is regular employee turnover and there is always the chance of hiring someone who will steal from you. They will mainly serve their guests and not charge for the food or drinks to earn higher tips, steal inventory, as well as cash sales. If you do not check on this behavior it will spread quickly and will impact your bottom line. Someone who is able to offer investigation details and keep you well informed about the employees when you are not there is important. Private detectives, such as a restaurant security expert, can go to a bar and restaurant and provide information on those that are stealing from you. This will be useful when prosecuting the sticky fingers and it will also send a message to the rest of the staff. In addition they can help you identify the other inefficiencies that are not associated with sticky fingers including: · Patrons that are intoxicated. · Not closing the register. · Over pouring the drinks. · Admitting people who haven’t a paid cover. · Whether customers leave without paying. · Offering proof of what happens when not around. Restaurant experts say that most employees steal because they believe that the chances of getting caught are low. However, when they know that you have things in place to track their activities then they will be more receptive to staying honest. Security experts can be consulted to give information on restaurant exit alarms, exit signs, and cash boxes. The different ways to prevent theft includes: Tracking the sales You cannot be everywhere, though it will be important that your restaurant point-of-sale provides a system that will keep track of the beverage and food sales. The POS system will help you know of the food that has not been paid for. No ticket can be changed once the order has been placed without the password of the owner or manager. Security experts say this is only effective when the bartender and kitchen staff give orders with the ticket. Stealing food is as easy as taking it off the truck. Food deliveries should be closely monitored too. A system needs to be in place to record waste as well as what has been used at the end of the day. Keep all the alcohol locked When not attended alcohol will disappear. Experts recommend that the access to the bottles be limited to the owner and managers. The POS system needs to be checked constantly when a given type of alcohol is always running low. Camera installation Getting a security system installed with cameras is a simple way of telling your staff that you do not completely trust them. It is not ideal in boosting morale of the staff but it does help reduce the case of theft. A restaurant advisor on surveillance will also suggest that access to the safe and cash drawers should be limited. In some cases it is important that only you the owner should know the safe combination. The less the cash is touched the less the chances of it being stolen. PCI for handling the debit and credit cards needs to be updated The standards of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security are administered by the banks which handle the transactions of the credit cards. The firewalls of the restaurant and bar should be updated periodically. This prevents the stealing of this information about the customer. The restaurant security expert can offer advice on how to go about this to ensure that the system is safe at all times. As an owner you will always have these problems and experts in the security field can help counter these effects. No matter how well one knows the employees you cannot eliminate sticky fingers.
