Now that the holiday party season is in full swing, nightclub management should be more mindful of party goers who will be flocking to their nearest nightclub and entertainment venue to dance and have fun. The dance floor in bars and club according to a recent study is a prime area to watch and stop fights before they escalate and cause injuries. “The research, published in the journal Drug and Alcohol Review, looked at “hotspots” for aggression in bars and clubs. The study shows that the dance floor is the most likely place for fights to break out inside a large drinking establishment. The findings suggest that roughly 20 percent of the most harmful incidents took place on the floor itself; another 13percent of them occurred near it.” Nightclub management should also note that the service bar where patrons order and pick up drinks can be another area with higher incidents according to this report. Another source of injuries on or near the dance floor can originate from spilled drinks. As a nightclub owner or operator, you want to have procedures in place as part of your bar management services to prevent slips and falls. This is especially important on or near the dance floor as patrons are more occupied with coming and going from those areas or dancing on it, than a wet and slippery floor. What steps at your establishment does bar or night club management use to avoid fights on or near the dance floor if any? Does nightclub management schedule more patrols on or near the dance floor or is it fairly universal throughout the premises? Please share your comments here.
